Tidal Tots Childcare Center is more than a place for children to spend their day. It is an investment in the families, workforce, and future of Hatteras Island.
After the closure of the island’s only licensed childcare center, local families were left without a licensed childcare option. Coastal Family Collaborative was formed to change that.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we are working to open Tidal Tots as a high-quality, sustainable childcare center serving infants, toddlers, and preschoolers right here on Hatteras Island.

Absolutely! Tidal Tots is a community-built effort, and there are many ways to be part of it. As we prepare to open, we welcome volunteers who can help with projects, events, fundraising, facility preparation, and other needs along the way. Once the center is open, additional volunteer opportunities may also be available in accordance with childcare licensing requirements.
